What’s Next?

There’s something no one really talks about, the silence after the noise, the stillness after a season changes, the question that shows up when the dust settles: What’s next?

It doesn’t always come with a dramatic moment. Sometimes, it comes quietly. After you’ve graduated and the gown is packed away. After you’ve landed the job and the excitement wears off. After the long-awaited healing. After you’ve walked away from something familiar; a friendship, a habit, a relationship — and the void becomes real.

You find yourself sitting with that one question. Not just about what to do next, but who you’re becoming in the process. With the world being loud with answers. “Start a business.” “Go back to school.” “Rebrand.” “Do more.” But what if your next isn’t about doing more? What if it’s about becoming more ; more grounded, more honest, more present?Sometimes, we feel pressure to know exactly what comes next in life. But the truth is, none of us have everything figured out. Even the most successful people have faced uncertainty.

God does not expect you to have a perfect plan. Sometimes, He asks us to take small steps without seeing the whole road. Remember Abraham? God called him to go to a place he didn’t know. He didn’t have all the answers, but he trusted God enough to move forward.

So, if you don’t know your next step yet, that’s okay. Take a deep breath and trust that clarity will come.

Many of us are navigating quiet transitions. You might be between jobs, in an unfamiliar city, or trying to recover from something that shook your confidence. You might feel like your prayers are being met with silence, or that others are moving faster while you’re stuck. That’s real. And it doesn’t mean you’re failing,  it means you’re human.
What if God doesn’t answer what’s next with a destination, but with an instruction?

What if “what’s next” is:

Forgive.

Rest.

Write.

Serve.

Apply again.

Let go.

We want to see the finish line, but God gives us footsteps.
We want fireworks, but He gives us a still, small voice.
We want assurance, but He gives us faith.

Sometimes what’s next doesn’t show up in clarity, but in small steps. Waking up and choosing discipline even when you’re tired. Sending out applications even when rejections keep coming. Healing slowly, loving gently, trying again even when it hurt.

And sometimes, what’s next is already in your hands.
An idea you’ve buried. A gift you’ve neglected. A project you’re scared to start. A skill you’ve underestimated. A nudge you’ve ignored for too long.

The truth is, we often wait for “big moments” to validate our progress. But real growth happens quietly. In your decisions. In your consistency. In your willingness to trust even when you don’t have it all figured out.  There will be seasons when you don’t know what tomorrow holds. There will be days when you doubt your own voice. That doesn’t disqualify you it refines you.

You don’t need to rush the process or pretend to be okay when you’re not. You’re allowed to sit in the middle, not quite where you were, not yet where you’re going. Just… becoming. You don’t need to figure out everything right now.

You don’t need a perfect plan to be perfectly in God’s will.

You are not behind. You are not forgotten.

God is not just the God of “beginnings” and “endings”.  He is also the God of the middle.

Your “what’s next” is not just about what you will do.
It’s about who you are becoming along the way.

If you’re asking yourself “What’s next?” today, I want you to remember this:

It’s okay not to have all the answers.Waiting is part of the journey.

Waiting is part of the journey.

Take one step at a time.

Your past does not define your future.

Trust God’s timing.

Look for Him in the small things.

And always remember who you are becoming.

You are not lost. You are led.
Even now, God is preparing your next chapter.
